About The Event
This Salon discussion will explore the challenges of addressing large-scale public health issues such as dementia, obesity, cancer and other noncommunicable diseases. As the world population grows and ages, economic, medical and political realities limit progress. Yet, at the individual, global, regional, national, local, and community level, we hope to advance ethical, fact and evidence-based based approaches -- smart choices -- to advance a better world.
As he embarks on a Senior Fellowship at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at Harvard Kennedy School. Scott Ratzan, MD, MPA, will share ideas based on his experiences on private and public sector engagement on how we can advance health sustainably. His theme "Getting Past Sisyphus" reminds how business and government cannot succeed without interdependent relationships. All of us - policymakers, philanthropists, and people interested in advancing a healthier world - can contribute for positive social impact. He will draw upon recent experiences including those in which he has been involved including former positions co-chairing the UN Innovation Working Group in support of Every Woman Every Child, a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Health & Well-being, and with his most recent position as President of the ABInBev Foundation.
The ideas captured in the Salon will form the basis for future Klosters Institute activities as we advance key opportunities for advancing a healthier and happier world.
