Discovery: Dr. Bamdad theorized then found a primitive growth factor that should be turned off at Day 10 of a
developing embryo but is aberrantly turned on again in cancers. This primitive growth factor is heavily expressed in 75%+ of solid tumor cancers and is the basis for Minerva’s very exciting cancer therapeutics technology. Impressive Results. Minerva is in FDA approved First-in-Human trials for advanced metastatic breast cancers. Trial participants have failed up to 17 previous lines of treatment and have on average three months life expectancy. Minerva has delivered very substantial extensions of life to more than 60% of trial participants and has totally reversed cancer metastasis in advanced animal models.
Dr. Cynthia Bamdad holds a B.S. in Physics and a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Harvard, where she was a Howard Hughes fellow. While a Ph.D. student, Dr. Bamdad invented the first electronic DNA chip and the first universal protein chip.
